you learn something new every day

After watching the Youtube Republican debate, I can honestly say I have never been so awestruck in pure lack of common sense in my life.   How hypocritical is it to say the democrats are out for blood, when every other sentence from a republican candidate happens to be some level of an attack on each other? While I understand  the whole idea of "staying true to your convictions", that doesn't mean you get a free pass to skip around an answer from a retired general.  Ron Paul had this idea that by removing the Department of Education, and Homeland Securtiy government spending would be cut in half.    So basically the same department that oversees all levels of education but leaves regulation to the state departments of education should not exist in this candidate's eyes. Duncan Hunter  who "waffled" on their answer to the retired general continually complimented the general on his service and never even answered his question.  None of these candidates even remotely stood out to me as a viable threat to whomever the democrats select because they were more concerned with pandering to themselves.  For the record though, when you hear more boo's then cheer's from your supposed "base" I think that would be a great time to shut the hell up! When Rudi Guiliani was asked what is his camapign platform outside of 9/11, he mentioned 9/11 as many times as he said platform, which is really scary when you think about it.  Let's see what comes out of Iowa in a few weeks......
